Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Information Technology (IT) Division to provide all Town Departments with technological assistance, uniformity, and control in the analysis, design, development, and functionality of all technology related projects and computer system services.

The IT Division has duties which include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide oversight and project management for any Town project involving technology
  • Maintain the hardware and software needs for all Town locations
  • Create a standards based database environment while increasing the productivity and functionality for Town and School staff to service our constituency
  • Establish traditional audit trails and controls
  • Assist in the training and orientation of technology users
  • Adapt to changing technologies / Adopt new and emerging technologies
  • Empower Town staff to embrace and utilize technology

Accomplishments for Fiscal Year 2016-2017

  • Upgrade of a Town Hall network
  • Migration of Police Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management software to a virtualized environment
  • New Community Recreation Center added to the Town's Private Fiber Optic network
  • Audio & video upgrade to Council Chambers including live TV broadcast
  • Upgrade to Town-wide Financial and Payroll system
  • Merger of Police, EMS and Library email systems into Town Email system
  • Redesign of the Library's website

Goals & Objectives for Fiscal Year 2017-2018

  • Procure and upgrade Town virtualized server environment
  • Migration to Statewide Permit System
  • Office Suite Upgrade
  • Procurement and implementation of a new telephone system
