Interlibrary Loan
Due to the rising cost of postage the South Kingstown Public Library will institute a fee of $3.00 for all out-of-state interlibrary loans for items requested on or after July 1, 2010. This fee covers the postage required to return the book or item to the owning library. The $3.00 will be collected at the time the item is checked out.
The Library makes every effort to obtain books from within Rhode Island, using the statewide interlibrary delivery system. Most items come from within the state and will not be affected. The $3.00 fee will come into play only when a book or item is sent from out of state.
Each of the South Kingstown Public Library branches offers Interlibrary Loan service. Books or other items not found in the Ocean State Libraries network may be requested from outside the system. Reference or Interlibrary Loan staff at all branches are available to help with these requests. Interlibrary loans circulate for three weeks, with no renewal.
