If you are looking for The Rhode Island Parents' Guide to Children's Mental Health you can view it online or take out the Library's copy.

SurfRI (free access to over 100 databases) will run until May 31. Database searching can be much more effective than Googling. Some of our favorites are Book Review Digest, (just type in a title for multiple reviews); The CultureGrams Recipe page (for recipes from every country), and Teen Health and Wellness.

Wednesday, May 21, 7 PM, at Peace Dale Library--"Caroline Hazard: Daughter of the House". Historian Helen Farrell Allen will begin this event outdoors at 7 PM with a tour of the Hazard Memorial Garden next to the Library, the Daniel Chester French monument "The Weaver", and a look at some features of the 1891 Library building. At 7:30 she will present a talk about Caroline Hazard in the Meeting Room. Thursday, June 5, 2008, 7 PM, at Peace Dale Library--What's That Smell? Documenting the Overturn of Narrow River in Fall, 2007. Neighbors living on the north end of Narrow River noticed a peculiar smell and milky color to the water last October. Dr. Veronica Berounsky, a Narrow River Preservation Association Director and a researcher at the URI Graduate School of Oceanography, organized a study of this phenomenon, called an "overturn." She will be joined by Rosemary C. Smith, who serves as a River Monitor and on the Board of Directors of the NRPA. A Powerpoint presentation and aerial photos by Don Bousquet will be featured.
