Friends of the Kingston Free Library
The Kingston Free Library is rooted in a tradition of providing distinctive service to the people of the community.
The Library has been able to offer additional programs and services because of a very special group of people: The Friends of the Kingston Free Library.
This group was organized in 1981.
The Friends of the Kingston Free Library sponsor special programs, including:
Author lectures and book signings
Multimedia events
Educational entertainment
Summer Reading Program
Story hours
Family programs
In addition, the Friends of the Kingston Free Library provide Museum passes; funding for additional materials and resources; and refreshments and volunteer help for special functions. They also host Holiday Open Houses.
How do they do these things? Through Membership Dues, Book Sales, Donations, Book Basket Silent Auctions, Sale of Friends Merchandise, Helen Mason Grose prints, and Kingston Village note cards.
We need your help and support! A commitment of as little as three (3) hours per year can be a great help to the Library. You can be as active as you want!
When you join, you'll receive the library newsletter, News from the Friends, which will keep you informed about all the upcoming events at the library. You'll enjoy the Friends Only Preview Night at the July Book Sale and you'll have the satisfaction of supporting one of our town's most valuable assets.
Levels of giving include:
Individual/Family memberships at $10.00;
Sustaining Memberships at $11.00-$99.00;
Life memberships at $100.00.
Please make checks payable to Friends of Kingston Free Library.
You can mail them to the Library at 2605 Kingstown Road, Kingston, R.I. 02881, or drop them off when you are visiting.
