Board of Trustees

 

In accordance with R.I. Law #29-4:5-8 and the Code of the Town of South Kingstown, Chapter 8, the South Kingstown Public Library is governed by the Library Board of Trustees.

 

The Board consists of seven members appointed by the Town Council for terms of three years with appointments being staggered. The Trustees serve without remuneration. The regular monthly meeting of the Board is held on the second Tuesday of the month except in August. 

 

All meetings begin at 7:30 PM and are held at the central library in Peace Dale, except as noted below.*  Meetings are open to the public with the agenda posted at Town Hall.

The schedule of regular meetings for the South Kingstown Public Library Board of Trustees for 2008 is as follows:

All meetings will be held at 7:30 PM at the South Kingstown Public Library @ Peace Dale, 1057 Kingstown Road, Peace Dale, RI 02879 with the exception of the April 8th and May 13th meetings. The April 8th meeting will be held at the Kingston Free Library Branch, 2605 Kingstown Road, Kingston, RI 02881 at 7:30 PM, and the May 13th meeting will be held at the Robert Beverly Hale Branch, 2601 Commodore Perry Highway, Wakefield, RI 02879 at 8 PM.
             
* 2nd Tuesday in November is Veterans Day; Trustees will meet on the third Tuesday
