Healthy Places by Design

The Town of South Kingstown partnered with the South County Branch of the YMCA of Greater Providence to implement the  

Healthy Places by Design

grant project from 2011-2012.

The goal of the project was to support positive change in the Town through public engagement, program improvements, and incorporating community health policies into the Town's  

Comprehensive Community Plan

in order to promote active lifestyles in the community.

The results of the project have been made publically available through this webpage and supporting links, as well as to the Rhode Island Department of Health (project funding agency) to serve as model for other Rhode Island communities.

The project's final report, published in 2012, can be found below.
