MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the South Kingstown Police Department is to serve the residents and visitors of South Kingstown, Rhode Island, by providing high-quality law enforcement services. Our duty is to provide and promote public safety, and we strive to do our work with transparency, integrity, and compassion for the people we serve.

The primary responsibility of the South Kingstown Police Department is to provide a comprehensive public safety program. Although preserving peace and protecting lives and property are the principal duties of a police officer, the members of the South Kingstown Police Department are public service officers responsible for identifying and responding to the service needs of all our citizens.

Our values are defined by the acronym “SKPD”, which also stands for the South Kingstown Police Department.
