On December 13, 2024, The State of Rhode Island was informed by its contracted consultant, Deloitte, of a major security threat to the RI Bridges System. RI Bridges is a system that manages programs like Medicaid, SNAP, RI Works, CCAP, LTSS, GPA, and At Home Cost Share. As a precaution, the system was taken offline while Deloitte and the State addressed the threat.
The RI Bridges Data Breach Hotline hours have been extended to operate on weekends as well as weekdays. The hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Operated by Experian, the multilingual, toll-free hotline is 833-918-6603.
The breach may affect individuals who receive or have applied for benefits through the following programs:
- Medicaid
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)
- HealthSource RI health coverage
- Rhode Island Works (RIW)
- Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS)
- General Public Assistance (GPA)
- At Home Cost Share Program
It is being recommended that anyone who has used RI Bridges for services may be affected and they should take steps to secure their credit reports, update passwords, and alert their bank(s). Those affected should also keep a close eye on personal financial accounts, credit reports and other sensitive information.
