The Town Council is evaluating the feasibility of building affordable housing at publicly owned properties that are currently vacant and/or underutilized. There are three (3) such properties currently under consideration which include (1) the former South Road Elementary School; (2) the former Wakefield Elementary School; and (3) the Oliver Watson House in West Kingston.
As part of this effort, the Town has hired the architectural firm Union Studio to assist in evaluating these properties.
On Thursday, April 24th, 2025 at 6:30pm in the Council Chambers, the Council will meet for a discussion with Union Studio on the Exploration of Workforce Housing Options for the potential repurposing of three municipally owned properties (South Road School; Wakefield Elementary School; Oliver Watson House/Property).
