The Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce that the play structure (for 2-5 year olds) replacement at Fagan Park is complete and Tuckertown Park is awaiting final touches in the coming weeks.
Fagan Park located directly adjacent to the William O'Neill Bike Path, now features a brand-new "Sprig" play structure by Landscape Structures, that introduces budding climbers to the just-right heights. Kids ages 2 to 5 can discover a variety of ways to flex emerging skills while exploring this new-growth play structure. This whimsical structure looks like it’s sprouting from the earth. A foliage-themed marble panel engages the senses at ground level. Above, a leaf slider delights as little ones navigate the bridge beneath a canopy of SkyWays® shade fabric. Tots can step or crawl across leafy pods, slide flower blossoms back and forth, or whoosh down one of two slides to ring the chimes at the bottom. The park also includes a new swing set with two traditional swings for older children and a tot swing for younger ones—offering fun for all ages to enjoy!
These improvements were made possible through funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), authorized by the South Kingstown Town Council. For Fagan Park, a future addition of a play feature for older children is being incorporated into the park planning in response to valuable community feedback.
We appreciate the public's cooperation and understanding while the Tuckertown play area remains closed for a new access path and additional tot swings.
