The Town of South Kingstown’s Economic Development Committee (EDC) is exploring the viability and need for a shared workspace and innovation hub in Wakefield designed to support small businesses, remote workers, entrepreneurs, artists, and creatives. The goal is to establish a flexible, community-driven environment that promotes collaboration, creative expression, and economic vitality.
This concept includes a mix of rentable spaces—such as dedicated desks, private studios or offices, and shared workshop areas—as well as access to meeting rooms, performance or rehearsal spaces, and event areas that support community engagement and discourse. The EDC envisions this as a locally-rooted incubator that can grow with the needs of the community.
