RIPTA (Rhode Island Public Transit Authority) and Town of South Kingstown are working together to plan for safer streets in SK! Whether you get around by car, on foot, by bus, or by bike, we want to hear from you about your experiences on our roadways.
RIPTA was the recipient of a $5 million federal Action Plan Grant under the Federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program. This federal grant will allow RIPTA to develop a Safe Streets Action Plan covering 31 Rhode Island communities. The Action Plan is intended to provide a roadmap to reduce roadway fatalities and serious injuries for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists and public transit users. Once the plan is developed, municipalities will be able to apply for Implementation Grants through the SS4A program.
