2024 Statistical Revaluation Update

The statistical revaluation project is nearing its end. As noted previously in the letters mailed last May by the revaluation company Vision Government Solutions Inc. (VGSI), property values are expected to be completed by the end of February. Data is being entered daily into a ‘live’ system to capture all relevant market data from the last three years.
New assessments notices are scheduled to be mailed by February 28, 2025. This letter will include directions on how to make an appointment with a representative of VGSI to review your new assessment. Appointments will be conducted by phone or in person at the Town Hall during the month of March. New assessments can be viewed on the VGSI website www.vgsi.com starting on February 28, 2025. This website will allow inquiries to the Assessor’s database including value summary, building data, sales search and general information.
Please note that the previous assessments currently on record represent market values resulting from the 2021 full revaluation program. Please do not use the old tax rate to calculate or estimate taxes using the new assessments. A new tax rate will be established once the reassessment process has been completed, and the tax roll is certified mid- June of 2025.
While the statistical revaluation is going on, our office is also working diligently to process exemptions and certification items for the upcoming July 2025 tax bills. We would like to thank the residents of South Kingstown in advance for their patience and cooperation during this reassessment process.
