Qualifying Veterans receive a $215 tax credit toward the taxes on their dwelling or motor vehicle.

How To Qualify For A Veteran's Exemption

1. South Kingstown must be the applicant's legal and primary residence.
2. Applicant must be Honorably Discharged.
3. Applicant must complete an application 5 days prior to the certification of the tax roll of any given year using information on the discharge papers, DD 214.
4. Applicant must record the DD 214 in the Town Clerks Office.
5. Applicant must meet specific qualifying dates.
