Qualifying Veterans receive a $215 tax credit toward the taxes on their dwelling.
How To Qualify For A Veteran's Exemption
- South Kingstown must be the applicant's legal and primary residence.
- Applicant must be Honorably Discharged.
- Applicant must complete an application 5 days prior to the certification of the tax roll of any given year using information on the discharge papers, DD 214.
- Applicant must supply the original DD 214 to the Assessment office in where a copy will be made. It is suggested that you record this document in the Town Clerk's office at no charge.
- Applicant must meet specific qualifying dates.
